Monday
Craft club takes place in class 3’s classroom after school in the new building for years 5 and 6. Mrs Wheatley, the teacher that teaches craft club, is deciding whether or not to turn it into a cooking club.
ICT (Information and Communication Technology) club takes place in class 2’s classroom and is for years 1 and 2. Most of class 1 take part in this activity and find it very interesting.
Sometimes Mrs Wheatley runs a singing club. We sing funny songs, sometimes to the piano and sometimes to music from the internet.
Tuesday
On Tuesday, netball is on in the playground at the old building. The starter children play in a smaller area and when they gradually get better they move onto the bigger playground to eventually get picked for the team. When the tournaments arrive, whoever wins gets a grand trophy that is put in the school cabinet.
When the weather gets too bad and the nights are too dark, the girls in Year 5 and 6 can go to Cheerleading club. We do routines to music and Mrs Bown ordered us some pom poms to use. It’s great fun.
Wednesday
French club is organised by Mrs Hamilton and we have an extremely kind lady called Madam Levick, who is French, and who comes in after school voluntarily to teach pupils from our school about the French language.
Thursday
There are two recorder clubs on a Thursday. Mrs Fenton teaches the advanced group during assembly and the beginners go to her after school. We play our recorders to a backing track on a CD, this helps it sound really quite good
Friday
Friday is the football day. All the players get changed at 3.30 to either train or play matches at different locations. There are about 40 people who play football and they are all very skilful with the help of Mr Gourley, the football coach.
We are very much reliant upon the goodwill of staff, parents and the weather! We do ask that your child make every effort to attend their chosen clubs on a regular basis.
