The Bowls Club ...

Beckingham Bowls Club has been running since 1948 and is currently the only surviving sports club in the village. The season runs from mid April to mid September, for pensioners it goes from May to August. Singles, Triples, Pairs and Mixed Pairs matches are held throughout the season. The Club has an Invitation Day, when each club member invites a member from another club to play. There is a Millennium Day when only other Clubs are allowed to play in Beckingham not the home teams. A Fundraising Day also takes place. A Presentation Day is held in October, usually an evening event including a 2 course meal and a speaker. The Club has played in the Gainsborough Standard Bowls League since 1985 and is also in the Isle of Axholme Pensioners League usually in the forefront.

Club nights are every Thursday throughout the season from 6.15pm when new members or anyone interested in finding out more about the game are very welcome to go along and have a chat. The Club is open to everyone over the age of thirteen. Yearly membership fees are £25.00, woods (which the Club can provide) and flat shoes are required to play.
