The cemetery currently in use within the village is located down Beecher Lane to the left just off Gringley Road coming into the village from the roundabout. Owned and maintained by the Parish Council but managed by elected Burial Committee the cemetery dates from 1971 and was registered with the Diocese of Southwell in 1972. Surrounded by hedges and trees it is a secluded, quiet place of rest. A large sandstone block engraved with the cemetery name, kindly donated in 2009 by a resident of the parish, now stands at the entrance.
Rules and regulations are displayed on the notice board just inside the gate. Water is available on site and there is a refuse bin for visitors to deposit flowers past their best and other rubbish. Dogs and vehicles are not allowed in the cemetery. If anyone requires further information please contact the Parish Clerk on 01427 848707. You are advised to check with the Clerk/Secretary prior to arranging interments or ordering memorial stones. Only memorial masons on our approved list may work in the Cemetery.
